Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant PRN (As-Needed) or Full-Time

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides rehabilitative services to individuals with physical impairments, under the director of the Occupational Therapist (OT) The position also monitors the patient’s program and records patient’s progress for the Occupational Therapist (OT).

Responsibilities for Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

  • Assists Occupational Therapist in determining patient abilities and/or limitation in establishing treatment goals and in planning appropriate occupational therapy treatment.

  • Under the direction of the Occupation Therapist, completes documentation of patient status/progress for assigned patients. Reports observation of patient performance to Occupational Therapist.

  • Provides age – related and culturally sensitive delivery of patient care services.

  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff.

  • Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions.

  • Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule.

Qualifications for Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

  • Current state licensure as a COTA required.

  • One year of direct patient care experience in outpatient/hospital setting required.

  • One year of direct patient care experience with pediatric population required.

  • Current Basic Life Support/CPR card preferred

    Secondary Functions: All other duties assigned by Rehab Director
