CT Technologist

The CT Technologist will perform Computed Tomography procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. The CT Technologist will perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.

Responsibilities for CT Technologist

  • Prepare patients for CT procedures. Escort patients to dressing and x-ray rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be imaged.

  • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during scan.

  • Operate CT equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.

  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.

  • Placing and removing IV catheters for CT procedures.

  • Ensure CT equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunction to Director.

Qualifications for CT Technologist

  • Graduate of a Radiology/Medical Imaging school

  • Current/Valid registration or certification in medical radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)

  • Current/Valid Licensure in medical radiography by the State of Arkansas

  • 1-2 years' experience in health care operations

  • Current BLS certification required

    Secondary Functions: All other duties assigned by Radiology Director
