Dietary Cook - Full Time

The cook for Dietary Services is responsible for providing nutritious and balanced food for patients, employees, and visitors, ensuring that strict safety standards, and state and federal guidelines are followed. This position must integrate company values into daily practice.  

Responsibilities for Dietary Cook

  • Follow established schedules in cooking, baking, and sanitation. Properly prepares, cooks, seasons, and serves adequate, attractive, nutritious, and balanced meals including meat, fish, fowl, vegetables, fruit, soups, salads, desserts, breads, and pastries as specified and scheduled by the menus.

  • Knowledge of geriatric nutrition, food service, and state federal regulations. Follows procedures in food cooling, hot food handling, and prevention of cross contamination.

  • Maintain regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule.

  • Excellent communication skills with co-workers, clients, and other individuals.

Qualifications for Dietary Cook

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • 1-2+ years' experience in healthcare food services preferred but not required.

  • Food Handlers Permit/Serve Safe preferred but not required

    Secondary Functions: All other duties assigned by Dietary Director
