Outpatient Clinic Admitting Representative
The Outpatient Clinic Admitting Representative will work under the general supervision of the Outpatient Clinic Director. This position provides assistance while interviewing patients or relatives to obtain identifying information and other data for admission. Collects initial payment or refers patient to credit office.
Responsibilities for Outpatient Clinic Admitting Representative
Conducts interviews with incoming patients or their representative to obtain identifying information, the name of their attending physician, the type and amount of insurance coverage, and to secure guarantees for payment of bill.
Enters patient information into the automated system, including the financial insurance and other data required by Sevier County Medical Center or other facility
Prepares patients' identification charge plate
Routes admitting forms and cards to appropriate hospital divisions
Provides assistance and coverage for the Emergency Room Admitting Representatives and Outpatient Admitting Representative when necessary.
Qualifications for Outpatient Admitting Representative
Prior appointment scheduling or clerical experience in a CAH preferred.
Experience working within multiple Electronic Health Records preferred.
1-3+ years' experience in clerical role or related experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Ability to function with team members and the ability to solve problems swiftly
Excellent organizational and customer service skills desirable.
Secondary Functions: All other duties assigned by Director of Outpatient Clinic
