PCU Registered Nurse
(Full-Time Day Shift)
The Patient Care Unit Registered Nurse will work under the general supervision of the Patient Care Unit Director. The RN provides professional nursing care to patients within the assigned unit. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the planning, delivery and management of direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to the standard of nursing practice.
Responsibilities for PCU Registered Nurse
Utilizes the nursing process to provide quality and efficient patient care according to established standards. Ensures that professional and skilled nursing care has been provided to all patients.
Contributes to the appropriate development, maintenance, and update of individualized patient plan of care.
Identifies patient and family learning needs. Teaches patient and families using effective teaching methods and documents accordingly.
Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate an approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.
Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule.
Supervision of assigned team members.
Prioritization of patient care and delegation of appropriate tasks as needed.
Thorough documentation of patient assessment findings, physical/psychological responses to nursing intervention and progress toward problem resolution.
Effectively communicates with all members of the healthcare team. .
Qualifications for PCU Registered Nurse
Successful completion of accredited Registered Nursing program required.
Current state Registered Nurses license required
One (1) years’ experience in Med-Surg clinical role or related experience
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications required.
Secondary Functions: All other duties assigned by CNO or PCU Director
