PCU Certified Nursing Assistant

(Full-Time Night Shift)

The Patient Care Unit Certified Nursing Assistant will work under the general supervision of the Patient Care Unit Director. The CNA, working under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, is primarily responsible for providing direct, non–invasive bedside care to patients.

Responsibilities for PCU Certified Nursing Assistant

  • Prioritizes and delivers basic patient care, including bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, etc. Performs and documents vital signs, measures and records intake and output, weights, specimen collections, etc.

  • Transfers patients using proper body mechanics and safe patient handling techniques.

  • Report any changes observed in the condition or behavior of the patient to appropriate nursing personnel.

  • Assists in preparing unit, patient rooms, and patient beds for patient admission. Maintains bed and room in a clean, neat, safe, and comfortable manner.

  • Removes supplies and equipment not in use, placing furnishing and equipment out of the path to provide a safe, neat, and organized area.

  • Adheres to patient rounding expectations and standards.

Qualifications for PCU Certified Nursing Assistant

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Current State of Arkansas CNA certification required.

  • Two (2) years’ experience in an inpatient hospital role or related experience

  • Current BLS certification preferred.  

    Secondary Functions: All other duties assigned by CNO, PCU Director, or Shift Supervisor.
