Pharmacist
The Pharmacist will work under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Director. The Pharmacist will dispense prescription drugs to patients. They provide information about drugs and help patients understand the instructions their doctors or other health practitioners provided. Pharmacists play a vital role in the health care system through the medicine and information they provide.
Responsibilities for Pharmacist
Dispenses prescription drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.
Answers patients’ questions on the use of prescription and OTC medications. Provides information to patients on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals.
Compounds medications, using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
Maintains strict controls and accountability for all medications stored in the hospital and dispensed or administered to patients.
Performs duties and responsibilities of support staff (pharmacists and technicians) in their absence.
Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
Qualifications for Pharmacy Department Director
Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy. Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Arkansas.
2-4+ years' experience in pharmacy services role or related experience
Ability to lead team members and the ability to solve problems swiftly
Secondary Functions: All other duties assigned by CEO and CNO
