Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician will work under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Director. The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist with the preparation and distribution of prescription medications. The technician will assist in filling orders for patients and ensuring that the order is delivered to the correct unit within the facility.

Responsibilities for Pharmacy Technician

  • Under the direction of the Pharmacy Director, maintain and supply the medicine dispensaries in designated areas.

  • Rotates stock, remove expired medications, and perform other inventory control duties.

  • Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection prevention policies and procedures.

  • Performs clerical duties for department such as answering telephone and filing paperwork when appropriate.

  • Helps health care providers and patients by greeting them in person and by phone, answering questions and requests, and referring inquiries to the pharmacist on site.

Qualifications for Relief Pharmacist

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • Current state licensure as a Pharmacy Technician

  • 1-2+ years' experience in hospital pharmacy services role or related experience

  • Ability to work as a team and have excellent communication skills.

    Secondary Functions: All other duties assigned by Pharmacy Director
