Rehab Unit Secretary
The Rehab Unit Secretary performs clerical and non-professional services necessary in maintain the smooth day to day operation of the rehabilitation services unit. This position provides scheduling assistance for appointments in the rehabilitation services department. The Rehab Unit Secretary will follow very specific protocols in scheduling and the collection of financial information.
Responsibilities for Rehab Unit Secretary
Provides administrative support for all employees within the Rehab department.
Performs administrative activities in compliance with all Federal, State and Facility regulations.
Maintains and updates paperwork such as patient scheduling, patient insurance documents, etc.
Answers the telephone, determines the nature of the call, and appropriately relays information within the department as necessary.
Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions.
Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule.
Qualifications for Rehab Unit Secretary
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
1 year clerical or administrative assistant experience preferred.
Experience in rehabilitation hospital setting preferred.
Current Basic Life Support/CPR card preferred
Ability to function with team members and the ability to solve problems swiftly
Excellent organizational and customer service skills desirable.
Secondary Functions: All other duties assigned by Revenue Cycle Manager
