Relief Pharmacist

The Relief Pharmacist will work under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Director. The Pharmacist will dispense prescription drugs to patients. They provide information about drugs and help patients understand the instructions their doctors or other health practitioners provided. Pharmacists play a vital role in the health care system through the medicine and information they provide.

Responsibilities for Relief Pharmacist

  • Dispenses prescription drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.

  • Answers patients’ questions on the use of prescription and OTC medications.

  • Provides information to patients on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals.

  • Compounds medications, using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.

  • Supervises and advises the work of Pharmacy Technician and other less experienced staff.

  • Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).

Qualifications for Relief Pharmacist

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.

  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Arkansas.

  • 2-4+ years' experience in hospital pharmacy services role or related experience

  • Ability to lead team members and the ability to solve problems swiftly

    Secondary Functions: All other duties assigned by Rehab Director
