Risk Manager
The Risk Manager will work under the general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer. This position is responsible for the professional management of a comprehensive health and incident/risk management program. The position will ensure a proactive approach to Incident and Risk management across the facility with consistent application of the Risk Management policies and procedure. The Risk Manager will reflect the mission statement of Sevier County Medical Center and the communities that we serve.
Responsibilities for Risk Manager
Establish appropriate structures and processes in relation to risk reporting, incident management and safety within the facility.
In Conjunction with appropriate staff, assist in identification of potential risk through risk assessment, analysis of accidents/incidents and near miss incidents, periodic safety inspections and/or audits.
Work with Executive Team as well as members of Management to develop and ensure the implementation of policies to minimize risk within the organization.
Make recommendations to reduce, prevent or eliminate risks identified.
Oversight of the grievance process for patients. Including auditing and investigating claims.
Qualifications for Risk Manager
Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Healthcare (BSN, RT, PT, OT, SLP)
2-4+ years' experience in risk management areas or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with Senior Management and all other staff.
Secondary Functions: All other duties assigned by CEO or CNO
