October 4, 2021
Stacy Dowdy joined Sevier County Medical Center as the Chief Nursing Officer as of October 4, 2021. She brings 15 years of service to the medical profession. She currently holds her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, which she acquired from Arkansas State University and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing Health Administration from Arkansas State University. She received her undergraduate degree from Cossatot Community College University of Arkansas. The first part of her nursing career she spent 10 years at Dr. Randy Walkers office in De Queen. There she was able to work her way up from a medical assistant to a registered nurse. During her time there she learned how to be a team leader working as a clinical care coordinator, care management, and office nurse. She spent 5.5 years with Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville Arkansas. There she worked PCU, Out-Patient Surgical Services, ER, and helped establish the allergy department at the Howard Memorial Medical Clinic. She enjoys being a leader to her fellow nurses, participating in community events, developing departments, and creating policy and procedures. In 2018, she was nominated as one of the top 40 nursing leaders under the age of 40 in the state of Arkansas by the Arkansas Nurses Association.
“I am excited to bring my love for nursing, patient care, leadership, & community service to this area and the place I have always called home,” says Dowdy.
Out-side of work, Stacy enjoys spending time with her husband, Wes, and two girls, Katie and Laken. In their spare time they enjoy camping, boating, and traveling. Stacy’s goals for Sevier County Medical Center are to have patient centered medical care, team-based nursing, and to play an active role in the community.
